Just managed to get all circuitWiz versions finished before Easter. In fact Apple approval for the iPad Version only came through on Thursday. Took quite a bit longer than anticipated- 5 months longer in fact. Had to enlist some outside help to get our ideas up and running but think the effort has been worth it. Aim is to expand the symbols list in the pro version and any suggestions about this are welcome. Additions will be included in upgrades.

Hi Don Will we have to pay for the upgrades with extra symbols?
Posted by Brett H on 07/04/2012 - 09:02 PM
No Brett. The extra symbols will come as a normal upgrade when you log on to the app store. They will of course only be in the Pro version Don

there needs to be an on/off toggle for the zoom function because the zooming function makes it almost impossible to change the sizes and rotate the symbols. Almost every time I try to, the screen zooms in or out instead of the symbol rotating, expanding, or shrinking.

Thanks for the feedback Michael. Circuitwiz for the iPad is very much a work in progress with nothing similar on the market so your feed back is important to us. We will have a serious look at your suggestion and get back when we have some news as to the viability of locking the zoom tool. Thanks again Don

Hi Don, just found the app CircuitWiz lite, and it looks great! What is the difference between the Lite and Pro; only the number of symbols? I will work with the Lite the next few days and give my comments. Regards, Hans, Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Hi Hans Thanks for your comments. Yes the only difference is the number of symbols which will be increased in the pro version to meet users requests. By the way, watch for an upgrade probably next week to both versions. We have added a zoom lock button as requested to make it easier to work on a drawing without upsetting the zoom. Regards Don

Hi iv been using your circuitwiz app on my iPad for a while now and would like to request support for incoming 3 phase power supply's

Hi Luke Thanks for the feedback. My aim is to make the development of CircuitWiz for the iPad user driven , so your comments are appreciated. This has proved successful with our excel version. Could you be a little more specific as to what you are requesting. Even a scanned copy of some hand drawings would help. We have just reacted to a users suggestion for a lock on the zoom to make it easier to rotate symbols without disturbing the zoom. That is currently completed and going thru apples verification process and should be available within the next week. Regards Don

Thank you for your quick response, with regards to my request for 3 Phase supply support I am just looking for a few more symbols that involve 3 phase voltage ( as I work as an electrical maintenance engineer in the automotive industry and use the app just generate and develop my electrical schematics), maybe such symbols as a 3 phase fuse block for incoming voltage rather than having to use 3 of the individual fuse symbols, could I also ask for a 3 phase pump symbol to be added? I find the 3 phase motor symbol very useful. I was wondering if it was possible to rotate the symbols, can you please explain how this is done. I'd like to thank you for your constant development of this app as it Is very useful. Many thanks Luke Nelson

Hi Luke In relation to rotating symbols, this is best done by zooming in to the symbol, then putting 2 fingers on the symbol and twisting. We have added a zoom lock on the latest update which should be out soon and that makes rotation easier. Click on the small info symbol bottom right of the app drawing page to access the instruction page which explains all the gestures more fully. We have quite a large range of symbols in the MS excel version of CircuitWiz which I am hoping to convert for inclusion in the iPad version. This will have to be a gradual process but will give priority to requests such as yours. Regards Don

I would have like to lock on lines that I have drawn, it keeps on dragging off and it is frustrating to go and get this line it place, time consuming. I will appreciate if you gys can work on it.

Hi James We are currently working on a new line tool which should be available in updates around end october if not before. There will also be more symbols including solar and architectural symbols as requested Don

I just came across your app in App Store and have a question, what is the storage format for the drawings? Or maybe to put this another way, can the drawings be exported to AutoCAD compatible files or even PDFs?
Posted by Dave on 20/09/2012 - 07:04 PM
Hi Dave, The produced drawings are exportable as pdf's Once converted to pdf you can then either use an iPad compatible wireless printer or attach it to an email. If you require more versatility than this then maybe it would be best to look at the excel version which is not as restrictive. We are currently in the process of some major changes to the iPad version which will include a better line tool and more symbols. Best advice is to try the lite version of iPad or the trial version of excel version for minimal cost. Don

I'm on the fence about buying the pro version for my IPad. I'm an electrician and was wondering if you have a list of the available symbols?
Posted by Patrick on 20/12/2012 - 10:57 AM
I tried to download CircuitWiz pro last night, 19 Dec 12, and the App Store tells me I do not have enough $$ to buy it. I have a lot more $$ in my account to purchase Circuit Wiz pro for IPad then the listed price. Is there a site problem on your end? Or is there a hidden, higher price?
Posted by Patrick on 21/12/2012 - 01:55 AM
Hi Patrick We have no control over finances- that is all done by apple. We just submit the app and they handle that side. You can view a gallery of the symbols here http://www.circuitwiz.com.au/symbols We are always open to any suggestions for extra symbols and improvements to the app. Our mission is to make this app user driven.
